Founder – Spatial Access

Meenakshi is the founder of Spatial Access, one of India’s leading specialised advertising and marketing advisory and analytics firms--formally a Deloitte business now.

With over 35 years of experience in the Media & Entertainment industry, Meenakshi specialises in media spends reviews and has been an entrepreneur for over 20 years with this solution.

Her years of expertise in Broadcast and Advertising, brings in the unique capability to understand both the facets of the business.

Meenakshi has spent over four decades in the Advertising, Media and Marketing world and helped over 250 marketers through the deconstruction approach of Spatial Access. After a decade and a half in Lintas, managing the Hindustan Lever business, she joined Zee TV in 1994 at the start of the Satellite TV revolution. She also launched Carat, the first media-independent firm in India – in the face of vocal and unpleasant opposition from the creative agencies, who promptly followed suit when they saw the success of the concept!

Her current venture is India’s first and only audit, advisory and analytics practice that helps marketers measure their ROI, trim wastage, and enhance efficiency in their marketing investments.

Meenakshi is the Industry Expert on the BMM Board of Studies at St Xavier’s college, Mumbai who changed the entire curriculum to make graduates of the programme highly desirable candidates in the Industry. She has been on many power lists and finally asked that she be moved off all lists so that fresh talent gets a chance.

She teaches at post graduate colleges across the country.

Jehil Thakkar

Partner, Media & Entertainment Industry Leader, Deloitte India

Jehil leads the Media and Entertainment industry for Deloitte in India. Jehil has over 20 years of experience in the media and entertainment space and has worked with clients across the US, UK, France, South East Asia, Middle East and Japan in addition to India. He has worked on strategy, operations business planning and due diligence engagements for film, television, publishing, cable and satellite, music, digital media, and advertising companies.

Prior to joining Deloitte India, Jehil was a sector lead for Media and Entertainment at KPMG in India. He has spent several years in the US where he worked with a number of clients in the Media and Entertainment space in Los Angeles and New York.

Jehil was also part of a digital media incubator in Los Angeles where he worked with start-ups and entrepreneurial growth companies on business planning, financing, marketing and operations. Jehil has also briefly worked in International Distribution at 20th Century Fox, and in strategic planning at Dreamworks SKG. He had also co-founded a business weekly and a television production company in Mumbai.

Some of his clients include Viacom, Disney, Sony, 21st Century Fox, Zee, PVR, Inox, The Times of India, WPP, Dish Network, Google and Reliance.

Chandrashekhar Mantha

Partner, Media & Entertainment (M&E) industry leader, Risk Advisory, Deloitte India

Chandrashekhar is a Partner and the Media & Entertainment industry leader for Risk Advisory within Deloitte India.

He has over 20 years of extensive experience in leading various engagements across multiple sectors such as Media & Entertainment, Telecom, Manufacturing, Life Sciences, Consumer Markets, and Metals & Mining which have resulted in significant process improvements, control enhancement, and cost optimisation opportunities. He has also served some of the largest groups and companies – both Indian and multinational across multiple geographies with cross-cultural teams.

His experience spans across varied functional services such as media spends review, content production review, process validation and tabulation, process advisory and diligence, risk and control reviews, enterprise risk management and Contract compliance reviews for leading Media & Entertainment clients covering key verticals across the value chain viz. Broadcasting (TV and Radio), Digital, Film production, Exhibition and Distribution, OTT, Gaming, Out of Home advertising, Print, Sporting Events and Activations.

Chandrashekhar’s academics includes being a Chartered Accountant who also holds Post Graduate Diplomas in Digital Business (Emeritus/MIT/ Columbia), Media & Entertainment Management (MICA), Digital Marketing and Communication (MICA), Diploma in Information System Audit (DISA), and Certification in Film Making (MET Film School, London).

In his role, Chandrashekar counsels and advises on leading Internal Audit and Control practices to governance and risk assurance functions.

He has been involved closely with the C-Suite and Audit Committees to strengthen the internal control environment, and has written several thought papers, POVs, and articles.
